Try the following tips and solution to fix play store not downloading apps on Android phone. Download the pending app from play store after trying each solution.
Restart Phone :
Just restart your Android phone to solve many issues with your device.
Internal Storage :
Go to Internal storage of your Android device and free some space by deleting videos, photos, music or move apps to sd card.
Download Queue :
You can’t download multiple apps in the play store at the same time, this might be the reason for “Download Pending” error.
Open the Play Store > Menu > My Apps & Games and here you’ll find the apps that are currently in downloading queue. To cancel the apps from downloading, select it and tap the X cross icon.
Date & Time :
Head to Settings > Date & Time, and turn on “Automatic date & time” and “Automatic time zone”.
Airplane Mode :
Turn on and off the Airplane mode by clicking the Airplane icon in the setting drawer.
Clear Cache :
Go to Settings > Apps & Notification > Google Play Store > Storage > Clear Cache. Also tap the “Clear Data” button and reopen the play store & try your download again.
Also press the Force Stop button in the above mentioned screen.
App Preference :
Head to Settings > Application, click on three dots on the right corner of the screen and tap “Reset App Preference”.
Disable VPN :
You should disable device VPN in the Settings > More > More Network > VPN and turn it Off.
Data To Wifi :
Many application won’t install if you’re using mobile data, to switch from mobile data to WiFi, download the app using WiFi network.
Update Play Store :
Open Google Play Store app and tap the menu button (three lines in the top left hand corner). Go to Settings > General > Updates and click the box “Auto-update apps”. You should also ensure that the box Auto-update apps over WiFi is checked.
If you’re unable to update play store, download the latest version of apk file from apkmirror.com into the internal storage.
Restrict Background Data :
Open Android Settings > Data Usage and click the three dot menu present at the top right hand corner. Now turn off the “Restrict background data / Allow background data” by clicking it.
Google Account :
Open play store and go to Settings > Account > Google and remove the Google account you’re using. Now clear the cache and data of Google Play Store as mentioned above. Restart your Android phone and again open the play store using Google account.
Disable Apps :
Go to Settings > Apps or Application Manager and scroll down to find the disabled apps. Enable all the apps you’re using on your Android phone.
