You bought a brand new ASUS Wireless Router from market and want to setup Wi-Fi connection that work on your phone. There may be a case that you forgot the router login credential, just reset the router and login using default router login credential. If you’ve changed the router password in the past, reset the router by pressing reset button generally located on the back or the bottom of the router for 30 seconds. In other case, login to ASUS by using default router username and password provided in the router manual.
How To Login and Setup ASUS Wireless Router
This tutorial will help you to login and setup ASUS wireless router that provide fast and stable network. Make sure you’ve a LAN cable connected from Router LAN port to the computer LAN port. Once finished, switch on the power supply for the router and turn on the computer.
Open your web browser, and type Default Gateway 192.168.1.1 in the address bar to enter the router settings page. You can also try http://router.asus.com to get the setup GUI console page.
Enter default username and password on the login page, if you’ve not changed it in the past.
Username – admin
Password – admin
Note : If the above combination of username and password doesn’t work for you, reset the router to default and try again.
After login, press “Go” to start the setup and create a Router login name and password then click “Next”.
Now enter network name and security key (password) for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless connections. Tick the box says “Copy 2.4GHz to 5GHz settings” and click apply to finish.
You’ve to confirm all the Network Configuration Summary by click next and pop-up window will appear, enter your new Router Login name and Password.
Now go to Router Settings > Advanced Settings > WAN and choose “Automatic IP” under WAN connection type, click “Apply” to update the setting.
Factory default reset of ASUS Router
If the device is not accessible from the router setting page, you can reset to the factory default setting by pressing the reset button.
Login Name – admin
Password – admin
IP Address -192.168.1.1
SSID – ASUS
Make sure that your TP-Link router is turned on. Press and hold the “Reset” button with a sharp object for 5 seconds, then release the reset button and wait the router to reboot to its factory default settings.
