Your Android phone has the ability to read QR codes, which automatically take you to a website URL. QR codes are little pixelated squares appear on billboards, magazine ads, product packing or bus shelters. All you need to download the right app and then point your Android phone camera at the codes. In this tutorial, we show you how to scan QR codes with your smartphone.

There are few different Android apps for scanning QR codes. QR Code Reader is simple, free and works quickly without showing advertising. It’s compatible with Android version 2.3.3 or later.

How to Scan QR Codes With An Android Phone

The first thing you need to do is go to the Google Play Store and download the QR Code Reader app. The file size will be around 3MB depending on your smartphone.
Now launch the QR Code Reader app, and point your smartphone’s camera at the QR code you want to scan and the app will do the rest.

If you want to use your Android’s default web browser for the result page instead of the app’s, then simply uncheck the box in the app’s setting menu.
